Opening Song: Hello, Friends
Book 1: Foxy in Love by Emma Dodd
Fingerplay: “Heart”
I put my hands together,
This is how I start
I curve my fingers right around,
And I can make a heart!

Rhyme: Open, Shut Them
Book 2: Froggy's First Kiss by Jonathan London
Rhyme: Little Heart
I have a little heart, (place hand over heart)
And it goes thump, thump, thump (pat chest 3 times)
It keeps on right on beating,
When I jump, jump, jump (jump 3 times)
I get a special feeling when I look at you. (point to group)
It makes me want to give you a hug or two. (hug yourself)

Rhyme: I Wiggle My Fingers
I wiggle my fingers,
I wiggle my toes.
I wiggle my arms,
I wiggle my nose.
I think that the wiggles
Are all out of me
Now I can sit down
And hear a story.

Intro Songs: Hello, Friends and Open, Shut Them
Book #1: Growing Vegetable Soup by Lois Ehlert
Feltboard Song: Vegetable Soup
(sung to the tune of "Farmer in the Dell")
The soup is boiling up,
The soup is boiling up.
Stir slow, around we go,
The soup is boiling up.
First we cook the broth,
First we cook the broth.
Stir slow, around we go,
First we cook the broth.
Now we add some carrots,
Now we add some carrots.
Stir slow, around we go,
Now we add some carrots.
Continue with additional verses about other vegetables your children would like to add to the soup. Finish with the following verse.

Rhyme: The Soup Is Boiling Up
The soup is boiling up (bubble hands)

Stir it slow, around we go (stir)

I added some veggies to our soup as we sang the rhyme the few times.
