Christmas

I've been trying to cover all of the holidays this year, but I have to admit that this is one my favorites.

Opening Songs: Hello, Friends and Open, Shut Them.

Book 1: Just Right for Christmas by Birdie Black

Book 2: Click, Clack, Ho! Ho! Ho! by Doreen Cronin

Action Rhyme:

Reindeer Pokey

(Tune: “The Hokey Pokey”)
You put your antlers in. You put your antlers out.
You put your antlers in and you shake them all about.
You do the Reindeer Pokey and you turn yourself around.
That’s what it’s all about!
Additional verses:
You put your hooves in…
You put your red nose in…
You put your fluffy tail in…
You put your reindeer body in…

Flannel Fun: Rudolph, Rudolph! (http://loonsandquines.blogspot.com)
Rudolph, Rudolph, what will you do?
You can’t guide Santa’s sleigh if your nose is BLUE
The rhyme continues through many different colors, until finally….
Rudolph, Rudolph, the children are in bed
And now we can get on our way because your nose is RED.

Book 3: Froggy's Best Christmas by Jonathan London

Book 4: A Chick 'n Pug Christmas by Jennifer Sattler

Song: Jingle Bells with real bells that kids can shake

Craft: Christmas Tree Bookmark (Oriental Trading)
