Fall Leaves Storytime

My pajama storytime sessions are for children between the ages of 3 to 7 (siblings can come together).

Opening Song: Hello, Friends using sign language (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKCGF2hvq3I), which is from Jbrary's Youtube channel.

Opening Rhymes: Open, Shut Them and Two Little Blackbirds

Book 1: Fall Is Not Easy by Marty Kelley

Book 2: My Leaf Book by Monica Wellington

Fingerplay: Leaves
Leaves are falling from the trees (flutter fingers down)
Yellow, brown, and red.
Falling, falling from above.
One landed on my head! (Hands on head)

Song: Leaves on the Trees
Tune: The Wheels On the Bus
The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown,
orange and brown, orange and brown,
The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown all over town.
The leaves on the trees come tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down,
The leaves on the trees come tumbling down all over town.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish all through the town.

Book 3: Let It Fall by Maryann Cocca-Leffler

Book 4: Ask Me by Bernard Waber

Closing Song: The More We Get Together

Craft: Leafy dots

I printed the tree shape onto construction paper and then kids could use a variety of fall colored paints to make trees using Qtips as painting tools.
